Greeting Cards and The Beauty of A Handwritten Note

Grace and her ‘Ma’ spending time together doing art.

Deciding to help Grace turn her artwork into her own small business was a big moment for our little family. Grace is such a light and we wanted to make sure that this project reflects the joy she brings into the lives of the people around her. One thing we knew for sure was that Grace’s artwork needed to be shared. But how? That’s when inspiration hit. Why not turn her art into greeting cards?

Why Greeting Cards?

There are so many reasons why we chose greeting cards as Grace’s first offering. To start, card writing is kind of a family tradition. It started with Grace’s grandmother. Grace calls her grandma “Ma,” and Ma handmakes all her cards. She sends hundreds out every year. And each time that Grace gets one of Ma’s cards in the mail, she opens it with all the excitement in the world. Naturally, Grace picked up the tradition and eventually started sending cards of her own.

Now, we don’t think Grace is alone in her love of giving and receiving greeting cards. In fact, we can’t think of a single time that we have gone to the mailbox, found a letter, and not walked back into the house with a giant smile on our faces. In today’s world where everything is all text and email, getting a handwritten note just feels better!

Grace brings us so much joy every day. And making her artwork brings her so much joy! It only made sense that Grace’s first offering be one that brightens up the lives of others. Plus, she gets very excited about the ripple effect that takes place when you buy a gift to give it away. Think about it! Order a gift card set, and feel the joy of giving. Send a card from the set, and give another the gift of receiving. All the while, raising awareness and promoting inclusion for the special needs community!

So we’re on a mission to share Grace’s art by bringing back the lost art of sending cards via good old fashioned snail mail! And in the process, we hope to encourage the writing of sweet notes to loved ones, be it for a special occasion or just because! There’s never a wrong time to sprinkle a little kindness into the world.
